In 2018, I visited Ukraine.
As I gazed out from the window of a long-distance train traveling from the capital, Kyiv, to Lviv, endless snow-covered landscapes unfolded before me. The white plains stretched on and on, each scene passing by the window, yet every view was real, with people living their lives there, though it all felt like a distant dream.
I often have vivid dreams, but as soon as I wake up, I quickly forget what happened in them. In this installation, I recorded my voice describing the dreams I had just after waking up, and these recordings are played in sync with the snowy landscapes I saw from the train.
By layering real snow-covered landscapes with the vague memories of dreams, I invite visitors into a world of fleeting, hazy recollections.
